Age Brackets: Preschool - 4th Grade || 6-7 pm 5th Grade - 12th Grade || 7-8pm Why Performance Class: Performance Class encourages interaction among students, provides confidence in playing for others, stimulates critical listening as students hear other students perform, allows students to broaden their musical experiences, exposes students to a variety of musical materials, and provides a setting where drills and exercises can become more interesting and motivating. Also, depending on the group size, there are a host of music games to play, further reinforcing important musical concepts. The main purpose is to create a fun, musical environment that will raise students’ self-esteem in front of an audience as they perform on a regular basis. No Parents Please: By performing for their peers regularly, students can rid themselves of a great deal of stage fright. When parents and other family/friends are not present, performing in front of a group is a challenging, yet still friendly experience. Performance Classes held once a month offer the experience needed to make recitals and other performance opportunities in the future much more relaxed and even enjoyable! When We Meet: During the week of Performance Classes, ON-SITE students attend one 60-minute Performance Class in place of their regular private lessons (be on the lookout for our reminder email, or take a moment to put all of our performance class dates in your calendar at the top of the year to stay up to date!) IN-HOME students are welcome to attend Performance Classes a la carte for an additional fee. Performance Class will USUALLY meet on the third Tuesday and Thursday of each month. In an effort to maximize the performance class experience for students, we hold different classes for different age groups, which are subject to be re-evaluated at any time to best serve our current studio. Please Note: there are NO MAKEUPS/REFUNDS offered for missed Performance Classes - if unable to make your teacher/instrument's specific classes, please plan on attending a different class that works for your schedule. We require all students to register in advance for their desired class each month through our website’s Bookings page. 2023 Performance Class Schedule: January 16-20 February 20-24 March 20-24 April 17-21 May 15-19 June 19-23 July 17-21 August 21-25 September 18-22 October 16-20 November 13-17 December 11-15
